Explain it simply, or you don’t really know it

You don’t know your subject if you can’t explain it simply.

It’s one thing to be able to repeat a jargony definition.
It’s another, to make your message come alive and meaningful to the people you’re trying to connect with.

Don’t use bland and complicated sentences. People aren’t robots, and you can’t build a connection if you sound like one.

If you only know the definition, and not really how something works, you can’t explain it in your own words.

Don’t fall into the trap of simply repeating what you were told. Make sure you understand it – so you can explain it like a real person.
