Be consistent: How much is your inaction costing you?

  • Post author:

If there is anything you want, you absolutely have to be consistent!

“The price of inaction is far greater than the cost of making a mistake” – Meister Eckhart

Inaction comes at a price. It costs you emotionally, physically, and financially when you “can’t decide” or “can’t start yet”.

And your biggest problem is that it doesn’t come with a price tag.

This means you don’t know just how much it’s costing you to do nothing…

Inaction costs you opportunity

Imagine yourself 3 years from now. What do you see?

Is your life the same or do you imagine it as much better? If ou want any kind of improvement, you have to be consistent.

Well, here’s the problem: your time is limited. You literally don’t know how much time you have left to achieve your dreams.

Everybody has the potential to be great.
However, not everyone is willing to put in the effort.

When you don’t take action, you’re ultimately squandering your potential.

Today's excuses are your disappointments of tomorrow

So, don’t waste any more time waiting for motivation to hit.

Become an action taker – and that mindset will fuel more action every day.

You do want to be successful, right? Well, then you need to be consistent.

Success happens when opportunity meets preparation.
You need to be ready when opportunity knocks.

Some moments only happen once and you don’t get a second chance.

Take action now in order to be prepared when your great opportunity comes along.

The stories that hold you back

Sometimes you miss out on potentially great opportunities because of assumptions you have.

Remember the amazing job offer you saw…but then you decided not to apply because you probably wouldn’t stand a chance?

Or the job couldn’t be that great for real? Or your family probably wouldn’t agree?

We shoot ourselves in the foot when we make up all these stories that hold us back.

And if you’re totally honest, you have no clue if your stories are true.

But you still let them limit your potential, not knowing how much missed opportunities like these cost you.

Be consistent

If you’re not getting the results you want, it’s often because you don’t take action consistently.

But it’s absolutely crucial to be consistent. When you take action, you get feedback.

Even if what you tried didn’t work, at least you know that that’s not the way to go.

This allows you to adjust and try somethig different.

Without action there is no feedback.

Trial and error

“Trial and error” really is the best method to discover what’s working for you.

Now, this doesn’t mean you have to do something rash and simply try whatever

Of course, you can (and should) get as much helpful information as you need to make an informed decision.

But although learning is great,  you have to put yourself out there at some point.

And don’t worry so much about messing up in the beginning.
Mistakes can teach you more than courses ever will.

Also, if you really want something, you must be prepared to ask for it more than once. Be consistent.

Of course it’s frustating when people tell you “no”.
And we usually have a very “black and white” view on this.

But a “no” can simply be a not yet or not now.
If you give up too soon, you’re missing out on your future success.

Be consistent - Inaction has a price

Inaction kills results

You have to start somewhere to get better.
Unfortunately, we hope we’ll somehow improve before actually putting in the effort.

This is costing you greatly. You can’t even imagine how far you’d come in a year it you’d only be consistent.

All your actions add up.
You gain more momentum every time.

But only if you make a plan of your next steps to get the ball rolling. And keep it rolling.

That thing you wanted to do years ago but never really started could have completely changed your life by now!

Dreams can be scary

When we look at our dreams, they seem impossible to achieve.
They are so far out there.

But it’s supposed to be like that.
You evolve over time, so you can’t let your lack of self-belief stop you.

Your mind can’t predict how you will grow into the person that can make your dreams come true. If you could only be consistent.

That’s why the cost of inaction is so sneaky.
When you’re not actually doing it, you can’t imagine what your losing out on.

How far you’d come.
So it doesn’t feel so bad in the moment.

It’s not like someone could show you exactly how much you lost through missed opportunities.

“What seems impossible today will one day become your warm-up.”…This is true for all challenges.

Everything is hard when you’re just starting out.
Big changes come through hundreds, if not thousands, of small, incremental steps.

But for that to happen, you have to start and then keep going.

Be consistent to succeed

Think about what your life could look like in three years if you keep going down the same path.

Imagine what it will cost you if you don’t take action.
If you don’t get started, you will never get your dream life.

That’s the simple truth. Make a conscious effort to try.
Tell yourself every day “That’s it, I’m doing this!”

You’ll be amazed by how far you can go if you consistently work towards your goals.

Ready to stop dreaming and start doing? Be consistent and see your life change!
