“Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be.” – George Sheehan
Who do you think you are meant to be? Are you already clear on this?
Picture yourself doing what you love. Maybe it’s in a few years’ time.
What does your life look like?
How do you feel?
Does your vision seem impossible to you?
Of course, it can be scary to say who you want to be.
We can even go as far as calling it “admitting who you want to be”.
After all, society teaches us to be reasonable, and your dreams may seem unreasonable to you.
That’s why it takes courage…
First, you need the courage to admit to yourself what it is you want.
Then you need the courage to take the first steps in the right direction.
If you want something you never had, you need to do things you never did.
And you have to start before you’re ready.
And this can be scary at first. But you get confident through competence.
This means, the better you get at something, the more confident you feel. It’s not the other way around.
So you have to
The first few times it can really stress you out. Like “where’s the panic room” stress you out.
But since you’ll get the positive feedback that you didn’t actually die, you get better and better at it.
Right to the point where feels completely natural to you.
What is your passion? What’s fueling you?
If anything was possible…
if you were guaranteed that you cannot fail, what would you do?
What’s your little secret you buried so deep down that you don’t dare to tell anyone?
The one you’re even scared to admit to yourself.
That’s what you should be doing. The world needs passionate people who love what they’re doing.
People who radiate positive energy because they get to be themselves.
If you want to be successful, there is no way around it.
The first step is to admit to yourself what it is you want.
And then you have to think about how bad you want it.
So, is your desire strong enough to make you brave and say “This is what I want and I will start today”?
